A Family Legacy Since 1931

Mr. Gulamhussein Fazal Karmali Founder, Karmali Group of Companies

GF Trucks & Equipment was established in 2007 by the Karmali family — prominent and successful businessmen in Tanzania since 1931. The company started its operations with two major franchises that would go on to define Tanzania's commercial vehicle market.

GF Trucks & Equipment relaunched Jiefang light and heavy commercial trucks, which were then rebranded to FAW. GF became the authorized distributor for FAW in Tanzania and established the FAW brand as a leading name in the Tanzanian commercial vehicle market within just a few years.

GF Trucks & Equipment also pioneered the XCMG brand of Mining & Construction Equipment in Tanzania at a time when XCMG had no presence in Africa. Today, XCMG is a major market competitor in Tanzania and GF Trucks & Equipment is the sole authorized distributor for the full range of XCMG Mining & Construction Equipment in Tanzania.
