How MD Viewer works

Everything runs in your browser. Files are read locally, pasted documents are stored only in this browser's local storage, and nothing is ever uploaded to a server.

Paste Markdown from anywhere

Copy Markdown from a chat, an editor or a repo, then press Ctrl+V anywhere on this page — or click Paste Markdown. You get an editor with a live preview; hit Render to read it full-size.

Drop or open files

Drag .md files anywhere onto the page, or use Open a file. This works in every browser, including Firefox and Safari.

Open a whole folder

In Chrome or Edge, Folder loads every Markdown file in a directory and its subfolders into the sidebar, and reconnects to it the next time you visit.

Read comfortably

Toggle the table of contents, switch theme, and change text size or page width from the reading-options menu. Your choices are remembered.

Export

From the export menu you can download a PDF or the raw .md, pull every table out as CSV, print, or copy the document as Markdown or plain text.

Supports GitHub-flavored Markdown: tables, task lists, code highlighting and [!NOTE] alerts.
